Parent Testimonials
This summer, my 15-year-old son had the opportunity to attend the AJ Battle Foundation’s field trip to the Gwinnett County Jail. The experience was powerful and eye-opening. Through the program, he learned the importance of emotional intelligence, self-control, and making responsible choices. As a parent, I was grateful to see how this opportunity gave him a better understanding of how decisions can shape his future.
Since attending, I’ve noticed positive changes in his behavior and attitude. He’s more respectful, more focused on his goals, and communicates with maturity. His outlook on life and school has improved—he’s showing more discipline and drive to do well.
The support from the AJ Battle Foundation has also made a difference for our family. The program not only motivated my son but also connected us with valuable community resources that helped reduce household stress and saved money on school needs.
One moment that touched my heart was after the field trip when my son said, “Mom, I don’t ever want to end up behind bars—but I could see myself working as a jailer when I graduate from high school.” That statement showed me how the experience truly changed his perspective. He left inspired, not fearful, and with a sense of purpose for his future.
I’m deeply thankful for the AJ Battle Foundation’s dedication to guiding and mentoring youth. Their hands-on programs are making a real difference for young men and their families.
